IS EMDR  USED ONLY TO TREAT TRAUMA?

Although this approach is world wide known for helping in treatments for trauma, EMDR (always integrated with other evidence based interventions) is proven to help with performance, anxiety and mood disorders, self-defeating beliefs, behavioral inhibitions, post traumatic stress, and psychological recovery for creative and performing artists, workplace employees, college students. It helps to address non pathological complains as procrastination, fear of failure, setbacks, and life transitions. EMDR treatment can be used to increase self-confidence, identify and reframe negative beliefs, and develop optimal functioning at work and in life.

IN WHICH WAYS CAN COUNSELING AND EMDR FOR PERFORMANCE CAN HELP ME?

The person can then accomplish a task successfully without being influenced by past. negative events, beliefs or physiological responses.

HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL I NEED OF EMDR THERAPY?

The length of your treatment process depends primarily on the severity of your mental condition. Light traumatic events can be quickly healed whereas intense past events may not be completely recovered from even after multiple sessions. Visible results may appear after the first couple of sessions. Towards the end, you may feel a strong sense of relief, joy and a surging energy to take life head on
The process entails well focused and clearly defined issues to address with EMDR such as intrusive memories, flashbacks, negative thoughts or feelings about themselves or others that just don’t change or go away in traditional treatment. Usually this type of supportive therapy is short term (3-12 sessions) to assist clearing up any single incident, trauma or simple fear that is interfering with the client making therapeutic gains. 
Treatment can be very rapid, however, the number of sessions will vary, according to the complexity of the issues being dealt with, and the pre and post-sessions work done by the client. After an EMDR session, there may be a strong sense of relief, a feeling of openness and healing. EMDR therapy is cost effective, requiring fewer sessions than traditional therapy. Relief from emotional distress often comes within the first few sessions.

CAN I STAY WITH MY CURRENT THERAPIST AND STILL RECEIVE EMDR THERAPY FROM YOU?

Absolutely! The success of the treatment is based on well focused and clearly defined goals for the EMDR therapist as defined by the primary therapist and the client. The healing work is most effective when the client incorporates and utilizes positive support network. It its not necessary to leave a well stablished therapeutic relationship with your provider in order to achieve extra benefits.

CAN COUNSELING AND EMDR ABSOLUTELY GUARANTEE ME A BETTER LIFE?

One thing to note here is that counseling is a therapeutic process designed to assist  you in bringing positive changes in your life. In no way is it a sure-fire strategy to improve your condition for the better. The power to improve your life lies in your hands. A counselor can support in navigating challenges in life. A therapist helps you build up your coping mechanisms and helps cull the effects of trauma. Therapists assist you on working through your painful experiences in a mindful and recuperative way that can in some cases heal you from the inside out. Additionally, even in extreme cases, counseling can go a long way in healing the pain and normalizing your lifestyle. Therefore, it is always recommended, but never 100% guaranteed.

WHAT ARE YOUR FEES?

Individual session, in person, or Telehealth, 50 minutes: $100.00

EMDR + counseling, 80- minutes: $150.00

CAN I BOOK A SESSION WITH YOU?

You can book sessions with me after previous session has taken place, and an agreement has been made. For example, you can book an individual session after an individual session. You cannot schedule EMDR session if we have not made the foundational work for EMDR.

CAN I BOOK AN INTAKE SESSION?

You can book an intake session upon having the consult session that would tell us if we can make a great psychotherapeutic fit.
